Another nice roundup of resources from a new and upcoming design Blog, Think Design: 40 Great Web/Graphic Design Resources.
Photoshop Freebie: Watercolor Brush Set
I thought I would write about the newest freebie from Fudge Graphics, a set of cool, watercolor brushes for Photoshop.
Seriously a nice set of brushes here, well worth a look. I’ve added them to my collection, and they await being used. The set is composed of 14 brushes, and are all an average of 2500×2500 pixels.
For those using versions of Photoshop older than CS, the author has included source files! ![]()

Neat Photoshop Toolbar Badges
Seriously considering getting a set of these limited edition, metallic hand-pressed badges. They look so cool!
Definitely worth a look just for the eye-candy value, but I will most likely be buying a set if they ship to Australia.
Edit: Just after hitting publish on this I went and placed an order! ![]()

Photoshop Tutorial: Designing a Poster for a Portable Gaming Device
I know Design Blurb needs more content, but my good pal from Photoshop Lady requested that I write him a tutorial, so I did. You can view my newest Photoshop tutorial over at Photoshop Lady. I had a lot of fun making this one, because I actually recently purchased a GP2X F-200

High Resolution Textures, Tutorials & Resources
Another nice roundup from Noupe, this time for textures: 50+ High Resolution Textures, Tutorials and Resources. Definitely worth a look if you’re just getting into using textures in your designs.
It’s always nice to see some of my tutorials from PhotoshopStar still being included in roundups, too ![]()

Ultimate Roundup: List of Useful Photoshop Actions
Another exceptionally helpful roundup on Smashing Magazine - The Ultimate Collection Of Useful Photoshop Actions.
I’ve never been much of a Photoshop actions user, but this may well change the course of time… for me, at least.

Check out the list, you might find something you don’t know how you lived without until now ![]()

Awesome Freebie: Nice Doodle-Style Icons
Just came across a beauty of a freebie from the SpoonGraphics Blog: Free Hand Drawn Doodle Icon Set for Bloggers.
To be quite honest, I’m quite the hoarder when it comes to design resources like these. I store so many different types of elements away in my resources folder, that someday they will have to come in handy! I recommend you do the same ![]()

BlendFu: More Photoshop Brushes
I’ve just discovered BlendFu, another resource for free Photoshop brushes. It seems like they are popping up all over the place as of late, hopefully there are no more and the current ones just keep on improving themselves.
BlendFu, although a little difficult to take in at first, seems to have some very interesting features. Features include: preview each brush from a set before downloading; very interesting search capabilities; you can download each brush set (as far as I can see) for Photoshop 7, CS versions and also GIMP!
Very interesting, we should be keeping an eye on this new site. Well worth a look if you’re a Photoshop brush fanatic!

Urgh, Lack of Updates
Hi guys, my apologies for the lack of updates! I’m just at a loss for ideas at the moment. However, I’m always interested in hiring tutorial or article writers, so if you’re interested please drop me a line.
I can pay per word or per article, whichever you prefer, just let me know your pricing.
An Announcement
I’ve finally got a new website up, VirbShowcase. This is where you can view all of the most beautiful VIRB profiles in one place!
So, if you’re not yet signed up, sign up for a VIRB account, add me as a friend, then submit your custom profile to the site! Please feel free to subscribe to the site and rate some designs.

MediaSlap - Premium Photoshop Brushes: Free Samples
Go on over to MediaSlap and check out the Photoshop brushes they have on display. Look nice, don’t they? I thought so too, but they do cost a small fee per purchase, so that isn’t as appealing.

They do however have a small selection of delectable samples that you can download! They sent me the following in a package I could give away to my readers:
- Bangin’ Borders Sample Brushes (6mb, 20 brushes)
- General Sample Brushes (5.7mb, 19 brushes)

The general pack includes some general stuff, such as florals, decorative elements, random doodles and doo-dads (some stunning brushes, as far as I can see).
Check out the MediaSlap website if you want to buy some premium Photoshop brushes.
