If you’re interested in any aspect of design, be sure to keep your eye on these blogs:
1. Noupe
NOUPE passionately delivers stylish and dynamic news for designers and web-developers on all subjects of design, ranging from; CSS, Ajax, Javascript, web design, graphics, typography, advertising & much more. (stole this from their about page!)
Smashing Magazines design inspiration comes in the form of tutorial roundups, and also beautiful free font roundups. This is definitely the blog to subscribe to, as they will most likely blog about something you’re more interested in later on.
3. Design Float
The holy grail of design inspiration. When someone blogs about design, it will normally make it to Design Float, so the rest of us can find it :)
Mostly for inspiration, this blog brings us web design and graphic design inspiration. They’ve also recently redesigned their site, so be sure to check it out.
Vandelay Design is most helpful in bringing us tutorial roundups, including some of my own tutorials, which is really nice of them! They also blog about very helpful design and freelance tips.
As the name suggests, Pro Blog Design is a blog about web design. There are plenty of helpful WordPress theme tricks on this site, such as separating Trackbacks from Comments, which I personally used.
Just Creative Design, blog focused on design and creativity.
I’ve known about Nice Web Type since the start, and I love the site, but it hasn’t exactly been up-to-date over the last few months.
9. Typographica
Best blog around on typography.
10. Colour Lovers
Beautiful colors – lots of them! Colour Lovers also stock nice patterns.
11. Dezignus
Dezignus blogs about free vector resources.
12. Vecteezy
Vecteezy only stock the best, free vectors for your photoshopping or illustrating needs!
13. Brusheezy
Not as good as vectors, but still have some value! ;)
14. iStockPhoto
If you have a few bucks to spare for your next design, iStockPhoto is the place to spend those few bucks. They have everything you could possibly need, plus there are some awesome textures in the ‘dollar bin’, where they will only set you back one credit.
That’s all I could think of. If you have any other awesome design blogs you would like to see recognized, please leave a comment below.
