I actually always used to browse deviantART for inspiration for most things, but not so much anymore. One thing I can tell you without a doubt is that deviantART has plenty of amazing artists, and plenty of amazing web designers.
Here are some very artistic/creative (possibly over-the-top) designs found on deviantART after browsing for just a short period of time.
The illustrations and texture really make this theme, but what is it without a title? I reckon a title is meant to be in the big, blue, and blank area.
Now this is cool. But I wouldn’t call it practical ;)
Again with the very organic textures. Really quite like this one, but maybe a tad overdone.
Another very unique layout, but maybe a little bit impractical (as mostly only experienced web users will be able to navigate it).
Another very unique layout. This would probably only be used to display images though, not content.
Quite a common layout, but the background really makes this a beautiful, memorable design.
Mmmm, grunge.
The use of fonts and different design elements makes this a very unique and attractive design (by the looks of it, I think it targets a certain demographic/audience!)
A lovely gaming-themed website design, using less common shapes in the structure.
Possibly a little over the top, considering some people still design for smaller resolutions and slower internet connections, but it certainly is interesting.
The use of background pattern really makes this design work. What would it be without it? Is it over the top? Depends on loading time.
The use of texture is very nice. The glassy style reminds me of Apple.
Certainly a little strange, but it appears the designer was thinking outside of the box.
Wonder if this is legit and who it’s meant to target … the color seems to work well though :)
This is what designing to suit the client’s personality/profession looks like.
Very cool and unique for a theater website.
Amazing scenery :)
Just one of many amazing, unique designs of Gisele Jaquenod.
